Volunteers will act as a support resource for children of divorce, abuse or neglect & will accompany them throughout the process of reconciliation or parental termination. They will gauge & track all professional outsourcing of services, including both physical and behavioral counselling.

Child and Family Services exist to protect and support children and to encourage families to be strong and healthy. Voluntary Support Services Agreements are meant to help your family when there is no other help available from family, friends or other community services. Child and Family Services Committees assist the Government of in making decisions about children and families. They work together with Child Protection Workers, children and families facing child protection issues. Volunteers for this program will mentor children and families - particularly in the areas of education and financial stability. Information for Young People is available to help young people understand their rights and the services they may access. Children in the NWT are protected through the Child and Family Services Act. Volunteers will teach a 1 Hour class each week on positive role modeling for single parents. Course curriculum will be provided by CSS. Committment is 1 class per week for 1 year.
With the recent tornado, we need volunteers will to prepare meals and deliver them to those in need, particularly in the rural areas.
